NavAbility

Robotics Startup - Design System

Design for Funding

NavAbility is an early-stage startup revolutionizing the robotics industry. Their proprietary, open-sourced code has created the foundation of the robotics software engineering community. A juicy contradiction with massive value for research and development.

To secure funding, the team at NavAbility needed a coherent story and foundational design system to attract investors. Over the course of a few weeks I interviewed each of the founders, derived the brand, built the initial design system, and educated the team on it's philosophy, purpose, and proper use.

SAMUEL - Design System

Philosophy

NavAbility's goal is to help robots navigate the real world faster, blending the intelligence of software with the reality of hardware. Samuel crosses the plane from pixels to molecules, bringing NavAbility's work into the real, 3-dimensional world.

Principles

1. Samuel is modular
2. Samuel is three dimensional
3. Samuel interacts with and navigates the world
4. Samuel expresses intention
